Resolutions, achieving your goals one step at a time. I know , I know every year around this time people are discussing resolutions. Each year millions of people set amazing goals and succeed. You can do the same! I believe in you. Look back at last year. What did you accomplish? Think of what you did accomplish. Most times short term goals are met while long term goals get pushed aside. Have you ever sat and thought why? Instant gratification is great when you do accomplish a short term goal. With that said, nothing can take place of how you will feel by setting a long term difficult goal and succeeding.
Goal setting is taught early on. It is easy to forget the basics remember you are in control.
- Stay positive
- Motivate yourself
- Obtain an awesome support system
- Be specific to what you’re trying to achieve
- Be realistic
- Have a deadline
- Again be positive.
Start by writing down your goals with a deadline. Break down each long term into short term this will be easier to accomplish. Give yourself a realistic time frame you do not want to drag out short term goals and on the flip side do not rush. If you run into a few hiccups along the way forgive yourself. Keeping positive is a small step in the right direction. Believe in yourself.
By now you’ve got all your long term goal with your short term goals. Reminders of your goals should be happy and motivational. Set a weekly reminder on your phone, each reminder can be specific to the up coming task. Sticky notes around the house are always fun to find, especially when you’ve forgotten you’ve placed them. Team work is the best, most people have common goals working toward them together is a strong motivator.
Spoil yourself now I am not saying every tiny accomplishment deserves a reward but if your on track I would say one gift a month would not be over doing it. On the flip side do not beat yourself up if you stumble and fall. If you have failed then congratulations you have just figured out what does not work there for you are one step closer to figuring out what does work. Not every plan will follow through as expected and there will be hard times. When this happens do not give up, remember you are a great person who is destine for greatness. I know you can!
